Security guard struck by vehicle following shooting incident at UT Medical Center

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Officials with the Knoxville Police Department said an investigation is underway after a shooting incident involving security guards at the University of Tennessee Medical Center Monday night.

According to KPD, officers responded to a shooting in a parking garage at the hospital around 8:45 p.m.

Investigators said uniformed security officers were patrolling the parking garage when a suspicious vehicle was spotted.

Security guards said they attempted to make contact with the people in the vehicle. The female driver fled the scene and struck one of the security guards, KPD said.

The two security guards then fired shots at the vehicle, according to police.

The security officer who was hit by the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was evaluated at the UT Medical Center.

Following the incident, KPD officers discovered the suspect’s vehicle abandoned on the 1600 block of Clinch Avenue. The driver fled the scene before officers arrived.

At this time, police said no suspects are in custody and there are no known gunshot victims. Following KPD’s investigation, authorities will turn the case over to the Knox County District Attorney’s Office for further review.

COMMENT: I've seen so many videos of police who overstep the law. And honestly I found a lot of people doing that kind of thing who were white men but I've also seen men who were black or Asian doing the exact same thing and then a couple of those instances by overdoing it regarding to get them in handcuffs they either broke their arms or an arm or a leg or broke their neck and laughed about it making fun of them who later on died and that person who was doing all those things he gets charged with manslaughter. Now I've seen also women who've done the exact same thing who overstepped the rules of the law and then they go like crazy when someone says no to them. Just because a policeman sees somebody parked somewhere or see somebody who's walking somewhere and they come up to them and say give me your ID. That's against the law unless they have a purpose and a reason to State why they need to see that person's identification if all they're doing is walking or if all they're doing is sitting in their vehicle eating their food. The issue is that when people don't understand what laws are then when they're actually talking to somebody especially a person who's a lawyer for example. When they explain with the law is to them and they show them that they are not acting within the codes of the law then they can get quite angry with somebody especially when somebody says you're supposed to be a servant of the law not serving your own thoughts where if you feel like you've been deflected because they don't like you as a policeman that doesn't mean that that gives you the right to overstep the bounds of the law. When you're dealing with a woman police officer it's the same issue.

Nicolette was released on probation after 6 months. 

We had dinner but she wanted to try and make it work with her thug nigga psycho babydad who severely beats her, do the family thing with bruises and cuts and choke marks all over her body. Fair enough.

After dinner she showed me her car punctured by bullet holes. They penetrated the driver side door and shattered the driver side window with her sitting in it. These were KILLSHOTS. 

She had been smoking a cannibis blount in a parking garage when a female security guard tapped on her side window. She did not know who it was and attempted to drive away, armed robbery can be deadly. 

The female security guard was not in danger but illegally opened fire attempting to murder her, firing from the side of the vehicle. 

Today she violated probation so back in jail after a few months freedom of intensive probation that makes it impossible to work a job yet requires a job. Perhaps she just wanted to escape her psychotic thug BF.

She should have never pled guilty, then sued UTK for a million bucks. Nobody listens to me.

Please write to her and send her all your money so she wont ask me for any. Most female inmates get fat and still blow all their commisary money gifts on illegal drugs. She may be out in 7 years if she doesn't get into more trouble, or gets murdered.

Father, we know You can even use evil for good. All we need to do is to look at the cross, where innocent Jesus Christ was arrested and tortured by jews in jail and prison, then tortured to death nailed to a cross beside thieves and then stabbed to death, so help Nicolette who is incarcerated for a parking ticket then escaped an attempted merder, to know that everything in our life, good and bad, is for our ultimate best (Rom 8:28). Sometimes we don’t always understand how bad can be good. Help her to see that God is not going to give up on her, every day is a new day to start over, because Your Word shows that You forgive her sins and cleanse her from all unrighteousness. If she is able to see that You are still working in her life Lord, she might have hope and know that You have promised to never leave her or forsake her (Deut 31:6; Heb13:5), even when she or we forsake You. Help her to take You at Your Word, and not use her feelings to guide her beliefs. Perhaps You can use others to help her inside the jail Lord, for nothing is too hard for You. Allow her to see the good that can come from where she is at now, and even if it looks bleak, good will come from it. Great God in Heaven, You alone determine the future and know that which is not yet, so help Nicolette to see that You have a purpose for where she is now, and know that You can use anyone for Your glory and for Your purposes, including her. We know that You have commissioned us to make disciples of all nations, and that includes those who are incarcerated. Father, may You use all these Christians behind bars to bring others into the kingdom by pointing others to Jesus Christ and trusting Him. They realize that You have allowed them to suffer the consequences for their own actions, yet I realize You may use them to reach others behind bars where we cannot, so please Father, make divine appointments for these Christians in jail, and allow them to cross paths with those whose heart You have prepared for the Word. Please Lord keep their family safe from harm and lonliness and evil. And please bless John for putting up with Nikki's crap. In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

The intriguing mystery of a stained glass window in

Kilmore Church, Dervaig, on the Scottish Isle of Mull

In the small village of Dervaig, which translates from the gaelic as “little grove”, on the Scottish western Isle of Mull, is to be found a church with an unusual architectural style and feature. The present Kilmore Church (Church of Mary) was built in 1905 on an earlier religious site. It was constructed with a peculiarly distinct round tower feature. The leading Scots architect responsible for building Kilmore Church was Peter MacGregor Chalmers (1859-1922) who had worked with the design of a number of churches throughout Scotland.

Inside Kilmore Church are to be found seven very striking stained glass windows, one of which reveals a remarkable symbolism. This particular stained glass window appears to date from 1906, one year after the construction of the church itself, and was produced by Stephen Adam, a leading Scottish stained glass artist who died in 1910. Although it is not known for certain who commissioned the design for this extraordinary stained glass window, its remarkable symbolic representation can hardly have escaped the attention of Stephen Adam, the stained glass artist responsible, who nevertheless agreed to carry out this explosively symbolic portrayal.

This striking stained glass window shows a young man portrayed with the usual features attributed to Jesus with a halo above his head, holding hands with a woman without a halo. In iconography, a halo with a cross (as seen in the above stained glass window) uniquely symbolises Jesus the Christ. The woman can clearly be seen to be portrayed pregnant with her girdle painted below her abdomen rather than around her waist. The key to the identity of this woman is made plain by the gospel text which appears immediately below the pregnant woman. It reads: “Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her“. This statement, made by Christ himself, which relates to Mary of Bethany whom some have identified with Mary Magdalene, the favorite desciple of Jesus, presumed to be a prostiltute, can be found in the Gospel of Luke, ch. 10, v. 42. The complete relevant text from Luke, ch. 10, v. 38-42, reads as follows:

38. “Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

40. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42. But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

It would appear from the inclusion of this highly pertinent Gospel text that the couple holding hands in this enigmatic stained glass window are Jesus and Mary Magdalene. It is interesting to note that this remarkable stained glass window dates from nearly eighty years prior to the genre of books published from the early-1980’s onwards which allude to a possible holy marriage and sacred union between Jesus and Mary Magdalene and a Holy Bloodline of genealogical descent.

So key questions remain: who commissioned this extraordinary symbolic stained glass window which runs contrary to conventional Christian theology? And why was it placed in a Christian church on the Scottish western Isle of Mull?

The village of Dervaig, standing at the end of the sea loch, Loch a'Chumhainn, is an attractive place. But it has one feature that makes it - quite literally - stand out. This is the pencil-shaped tower of Kilmore Church, Dervaig. This has become especially striking since the church was restored in 2004/5 and the century-old brown finish was exchanged for bright white harling. Because trees obscure the body of the church in distant views, the local joke is that the church was designed by NASA.

But whatever the resemblances between Kilmore Church's white pointed tower and a vehicle destined for space, there is no denying that this is a remarkably beautiful church, and one whose beauty has really come to the fore since its restoration. And what is especially nice is to discover that this beauty is more than just skin-deep: it carries through to the interior of the building as well.

There had been a church serving the parish here since the 1200s, centuries before Dervaig's arrival as a planned village in 1799. This was located in the graveyard a little out of Dervaig on the Tobermory road. It was later replaced by one standing on the site of today's church, but by the late 1800s it was being said that in bad weather parishioners could stay dryer outside the church than inside it, so thoughts turned to a replacement.

Kilmore Church, Dervaig, was designed in 1904 by the architect Peter MacGregor Chalmers and building work was complete by September 1905. Externally the design is a masterpiece of beauty and simplicity, which some have described as Romanesque, informed by the then very current Arts and Crafts Movement.

The design of the tower was based on Irish watchtowers such Cashel, Enniskillen, Clonmacnoise and Kilmacduagh, though here the tower was not free-standing, instead forming the west end of the church.

Internally the church is dominated by the wood colours of its ceiling and pews, and by the mix of grey and red stone blocks from which it is constructed. Actually, that's only half true. What really dominates the interior of Kilmore Church is the highly unusual apse at its east end. This is highly decorated and it initially caused more than a little local controversy, with one Elder resigned in protest at the idolatrous image painted on the apse ceiling.

Today the apse serves the same function for the interior of the church as the tower does for the exterior: it adds a sense of beauty and originality that makes you sit up and take notice.

The range and quality of the stained glass on show in Kilmore Church is especially impressive: all the more so since the renovation work of recent years. The windows were largely the work of Stephen Adam snr. who like the architect was based in Glasgow. The stained glass commission for Kilmore Church was for five tall panels, and two smaller rectangular panels in the apse.
